Naveen Deshpande is the founder and director of Ground Control, a cutting-edge lighting, AV and content design studio based in India. Ground Control works with some of the biggest names across the board from Bollywood acts such Pritam, KK, Shafquat Amanat Ali, Amit Trivedi to top independent acts such as Prateek Kuhad, Divine (Gully Gang), Naezy, Ritviz, Nucleya and many more. Ground Control's current list of music festivals in India include the prestigious NH7 Weekender, Red Bull Tour Bus shows, Echoes of Earth Festival, Magnetic Fields Festival, Bira 91's April Fool's Festival and BUDX Festival.
Naveen received the highly acclaimed Lighting Designer of the year award in 2019 at the esteemed Palm Expo awards. He has personally been asked to design and execute the lighting for various major artists like Steve Vai, Slash, Karnivool, Anderson Paak and the Free Nationals, Four Tet, Chet Faker, FKJ, Kamasi Washington and many more for their tours in India. Currently, Ground Control also handles the live production for two of the biggest hip-hop artists from India; Divine (Gully Gang) and Naezy. Ground Control handles the Lights, Visuals and Pyro and SFX production for all of Divine’s shows.
